Puerta del Lobo is Texas’s first vineyard estate community: 18 founding estates set among working vineyard rows along US 290 in Johnson City, about an hour west of Austin. An estate winery, tasting room, and private clubhouse are part of the plan, and WillowTree is among the builders bringing homes to the land.
Life at Puerta del Lobo
Ownership at Puerta del Lobo comes with more than land. Residents share a private clubhouse with a tasting bar, a stone-vaulted wine cellar for private dinners, a pool and wellness area with cabanas set against the vineyard, a sports park with pickleball and tennis courts, and a golf simulator lounge for year-round play.
Beyond the neighborhood, the estate is a destination in its own right: a working winery and tasting room, a vineyard-driven restaurant, an event hall, and gardens under the oaks. Fredericksburg and the 290 wine corridor are a short drive west, and Austin is about an hour east.

Each of the 18 founding estates sits on roughly three acres, with vineyard rows running to the property line and views across the vines, the reservoir, or both. The clubhouse anchors the western edge of the neighborhood, so the shared spaces are never far from home.

The shared spaces at Puerta del Lobo are designed for the way owners will actually use them: an afternoon by the pool, a match at the sports park, a round on the simulator when the weather turns, and long dinners in the cellar.
The clubhouse and its amenities are shared by the community’s residents, with the estate’s winemaking at the center of it all.
