Ways to Build

Your Home. Your Starting Point.

Maybe you already own the land. Maybe you’ve found a neighborhood you love, have plans taking shape, or are still imagining the home your family will gather in for years to come.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you talk to WillowTree. Start with what you know. We’ll listen, talk through what you’re considering, and help you understand what the next step could look like.

Four Ways In

Start With What You Know

There is no single starting point for a custom home.

No. 1

You Have the Land

A neighborhood lot. An estate homesite. Acreage in the Hill Country. Land your family has held for years.

We’ll start by understanding the property, the home you envision, and what matters most to you.

No. 2

You’re Looking for a Neighborhood to Call Home

Sometimes you find the neighborhood before you know exactly what the home will become.

Explore the communities where WillowTree is building across North Texas and the Texas Hill Country, and find the place that feels right for your family.

No. 3

You Need Help Finding the Right Homesite

You don’t need to find the land before you find the builder.

If you know where you’d like to be but haven’t found the right homesite, bring us into the conversation. We can talk through what you’re considering and help connect the right resources when needed.

No. 4

You Have Plans Taking Shape

Already working with an architect or designer? WillowTree is comfortable collaborating with established design teams.

Still looking for the right people? We have trusted relationships with experienced architects and designers who understand the level of thought and detail a custom home deserves and from the first conversation, we keep you, your architect, your designer, engineers, and trades closely coordinated throughout the project.

One Standard

Custom Doesn’t Have One Starting Point But It Should Always Feel Like Yours.

Some homes begin with an entirely original idea and a blank sheet of paper. Others begin with plans already taking shape, or with thoughtful design work already underway. And some start with little more than an idea.

Every path is different. The standard isn’t. The goal is a home that feels deeply personal to the people who live there.

Thoughtfully planned. Beautifully built. Crafted to be part of the family for generations.

Why Experience Matters

Experience Makes the Unknown Feel a Little Less Unknown.

The WillowTree Team

Every custom home comes with questions. The land may present challenges. Plans may evolve. The right path may not be obvious on day one. That’s where experience matters.

WillowTree has been building luxury custom homes in North Texas since 2013, with leadership experience spanning construction, engineering, residential land development, and high-end homebuilding. Travis Franks’ background includes residential land development, while Jody Alumbaugh is a professional engineer whose career in construction and design began in 2002.

That experience reaches beyond the walls of a home. Building in an established neighborhood or on a new piece of land can bring its own considerations, from the homesite itself to community requirements and local building standards.

The more your builder understands the landscape around the build, the fewer unknowns you have to navigate alone.

A good building experience doesn’t begin with having every answer. It begins with having experienced people around the table who know which questions to ask.

Partnership & Accountability

The Right People, Around One Vision

An exceptional home brings together architects, designers, engineers, craftsmen, and countless decisions along the way. We believe in partnership and clear communication from the start, keeping the people and decisions surrounding your home aligned as the vision takes shape, with WillowTree as your clear point of accountability throughout the process.

So you can spend less time wondering what comes next, and more time imagining what comes home.

Begin With a Conversation

You Don’t Have to Know the Next Step.

That’s What the First Conversation Is For.

Tell us what you know. The land you own. The neighborhood you love. The plans you’ve started. Or simply the home you’ve been imagining. We’ll listen, answer your questions, and talk through where to go from here.
